Bio
ANDREW BEHLA is a fine art printmaker, color management consultant, educator and graphic designer. He is also a musician, recording engineer and music producer. Andrew holds a B. A. degree in Philosophy with a minor in Business from Trinity University. With over 16 years experience in the visual arts field, Andrew has managed fine art printmaking studios, is an instructor and course developer for UCLA Extension and Santa Monica College, has presented at national seminars, worked in technical support and training for a graphic arts software and hardware corporation and is the founder of his own company, Behla Design and Consulting.
Andrew has created graphic designs, ads, labels, packaging, newsletters, corporate identity, brochures, posters, CDs, book covers, and websites for a wide range of clients including REED’S Inc., The Art of Living Foundation, Tab Management, Eric Lawton, Krishna Das, Suzanne Teng & Mystic Journey, Ram Dass and On The Path.
Since 1998, Andrew has been teaching classes in Digital Imaging for Design at Santa Monica College’s Academy of Arts and Entertainment Technology. Andrew also teaches Mastering Fine Art Digital Printmaking, a class that he developed for the UCLA Extension’s Graphic Arts Department. In 2004 he was awarded “Instructor of the Year” by the UCLA Extension Graphic Arts Department. He has been a featured speaker for the National Association of Photoshop Professionals’ National Conference, Thunder Lizard’s National Photoshop Conference, and the LA Mac Users Group. In 2006 he was invited to Le Rencontres D’Arles Photographie held in Arles, France to present a seminar on digital printmaking and color management on behalf of a series of workshops sponsored by HP.
He has also produced fine art print editions, or giclée prints, for such artists as Mark Ryden, Linda Bolhuis, Andy Summers, Jane Seymour, Alan Kozlowski, Eric Lawton and Jeff Bridges. In addition, Andrew has created digital printing color management profiles for online purchase at inkjetgoodies.com and customer downloads at moabpaper.com. These profiles allow end users
the ability to print with greater color fidelity and accuracy. He has also contributed articles for the Professional Digital Imaging Association’s Great Output magazine.
Andrew has worked onsite to help companies such as Corbis, Disney, Macy’s and the Los Angeles Times to achive the highest level of digital imaging and color management workflows. He is a sought after consultant who can help solve complex problems and also provide training and support.
He has done pro-bono work for many organizations including the Art of Living Foundation, Topanga Peace Alliance, Habitat for Humanity, LA Works, Catholic Worker, and the Topanga Earth Day Celebration.

Canyon Gallery Tour
This weekend is the Topanga Canyon Gallery Tour. It’s a great event to see and buy incredible art in the setting of the artist’s studio. There are over 50 artists represented. To Be or Not to Be Edition
Canyon Editions prepared and printed the To Be or Not to Be edition by David Rosen for Howell Green Fine Art. The series of 23 images includes text from Shakespeare’s play Hamlet and will be a fund raiser for the Theatricum Botanicum in Topanga Canyon.
